Locations
This code book is used to enter the physical places where devices connected to Brix are located.
- A location is a physical place with one device that does not issue receipts (e.g. an RFID reader for access control).
- A point of sale is a place of payment under whose number its own sequence of receipt numbers runs (e.g. Fiskalna vaga SunMicro Fiscal or a touchscreen till).
Every location or point of sale must be linked to one department. One department can contain several locations and points of sale.
How many points of sale to enter
The answer depends on whether the device creates the receipt itself or “connects” to Brix through a browser.
- Standalone (physical) payment device — a fiscal scale (type Fiscal scale) or a touchscreen till (type GUI).
The device creates and fiscalises the receipt itself and reports to Brix with its serial number; Brix only takes over such a receipt.
Each device must have its own point of sale. Two scales in the same shop mean two points of sale with different numbers, and therefore two separate receipt number sequences. - Device working through a web browser — a computer, tablet or mobile phone with the [ POS Receipts ] form open.
Such a device does not create the receipt itself; it is only a screen and keyboard, and Brix creates and fiscalises the receipt. The device is not tied to a particular point of sale and can be replaced by another at any time.
No point of sale is entered for such devices. POS receipts are issued under the department's {Till - POS Receipts} from the ~ OTHER DATA ~ tab, by Brix users — see POS receipt clerks.
Examples
- Shop with two scales and three mobile phones — one department, two points of sale, one for each fiscal scale. POS receipts from the phones are issued under the department's {Till - POS Receipts}.
- Shop with mobile phones only — one department, no points of sale. The department's {Till - POS Receipts} is enough, regardless of the number of phones.
Payment device number
The payment device number is printed in the third part of the receipt number (e.g. 1234/P1/2); the receipt number sequence depends on it.
- Invoices carry the department's {Till - Invoices} — tab ~ OTHER DATA ~ — and share one number sequence.
- POS receipts carry the department's {Till - POS Receipts} and their own number sequence.
- FA invoices carry the {Till - Fixed Asset Sales} from the company data.
- Fiscal scales and tills use the {Number} of the point of sale the device is assigned to.
- Voids of fiscal scale receipts carry the separate {Void} number of that scale's point of sale and their own number sequence — see Storniranje računa.
Detailed explanation: Payment device number in the receipt number.
Point of sale dialog
Selecting a point of sale in the list opens the Point of sale dialog. The icons in the dialog header are shown on all tabs:
Data tabs
The point of sale dialog has three data tabs:
- ~ BASIC ~
Device type, department, payment device number (for a fiscal scale also the void number), name and the title the scale prints on the receipt. - ~ CLERKS ~
Employees working on the clerk keys of a fiscal scale, with the default payment method. - ~ SUNMICRO GOODS ~
Links the scale's PLU codes to items in Brix. Shown only for the Fiscal scale type.
Buttons
- SAVE — Saves the point of sale.
- DELETE — Deletes an existing point of sale.
Limitations
Without a {Void} number, a receipt issued on that scale cannot be voided — see Storniranje računa.
