~ PRODUCT LABELS ~

The tab is where the content of the item's product label is set; the label is printed on stickers of various sizes. An item can have several product labels — one per label type, and for the same type separate labels for particular partners. The tab and the product-label print icons are shown only to companies with the G_DEKL setting enabled.

Printing product labels requires a special type of label printer. Contact support for a quote.

List

The field with the icon filters the list of product labels by the entered text. Columns:

  • # — Sequence number.
  • Name — Label type.
  • Partner — The partner the label applies to; empty for the general label.
  • Characters per line — The maximum number of characters per line for that label type.
  • Number of Lines — The number of text lines the label type has.
  • — The label is the default for automatic printing from invoices and delivery notes ({Default}).

Buttons

  • — Opens the Product Label - Add dialog; clicking a list row opens Product Label - Edit.
  • SAVE — Saves the product label.
  • DELETE — Deletes the product label; only in the Product Label - Edit dialog.

Dialog fields

  • {Type of Label} — Sticker size. The types are predefined, and each sets the number of lines and the maximum characters per line (e.g. 30×18 mm — 10 lines of 22 characters, 95×22 mm — 12 lines of 136 characters). A new type is requested through a support request.
  • {Number to print} — How many labels are printed for the item when printing automatically from invoice and delivery note lines:
    • Just one — One label per line, regardless of quantity.
    • Sold qty — As many labels as the quantity on the line.
    • empty — The label is not printed from invoices and delivery notes.
  • {Default} — Checkbox. The checked label is the one printed for the item from invoices and delivery notes.
  • {1} to {n} — The lines of text printed on the label; the number of lines and characters depends on the selected label type, and the counter below each line (e.g. 1 / 136) shows the entered and allowed characters. The icons to the right of a line align its text left, centre or right. The icon to the right of the alignment icons clears the whole line, and the counter shows 0; the icon is shown only when the line has content. Clearing is saved with SAVE, like any other change.
  • {Partner} — The partner (customer, retailer) this label applies to. Empty means the item's general label; with a partner, that partner's label is used instead of the general one when printing for them.
  • {Barcode} — Checkbox. When checked, the item's barcode is printed on the label as well.

Limitations

  • For the same label type an item has one general label and at most one per partner. Saving a label that would duplicate an existing one (same label type and same partner, or both without a partner) is rejected with the message A product label for this label type and partner already exists., and the dialog stays open with the entered data.
  • A label type cannot be deleted while any product label uses it.

Printing product labels

In the Invoices and delivery_notes forms the product-label print icon prints the labels of all items on the document lines — each item's default label, in the number set by {Number to print}.

For a single item, product labels are printed with the icon in the header of the item dialog in the Items form and of the stock dialog in the Stocks form. The Product Labels - Select Output dialog opens:

  • {Partner} — Prints the label set for a particular partner; empty prints the general label. If no label is entered for the selected partner, the general one is printed.
  • {Type of Label} — Sticker size.
  • {Printer} — The label printer the product labels are printed on.
  • {Quantity} — The number of stickers to print.

The output options are the same as in every print dialog and are described on Print language.
