Structures

A structure lists the items a given item is made of. Following the structure, Brix relieves the component items from the warehouse, without an issue slip having to be entered by hand for every occasion.

Structures are the same for the whole company and can therefore be entered in any department.

Types of structure

A structure is entered for four item types:

  • Own product
The raw materials and materials that go into a product of the company's own manufacture. Following the structure, an issue slip for the raw materials is created automatically from the job card.
  • Food and Drinks
The recipe by which raw materials are relieved when food and drinks (F&B) are sold. Relieving is triggered by confirming the daily turnover.
  • Assembly/Menu
The items an assembly is made of (a motherboard and memory in a computer, for example) or a catering menu (soup, main course and dessert, for example).
  • Service package
The services that go into a package, for example the number of training sessions in a package. The contents of a package can also be entered through the ~ BUNDLE ~ tab of the Items form.
A structure can contain an item that has a structure of its own. Selling a menu therefore relieves the raw materials of every F&B item the menu contains.

Toolbar

  • Entry of a new structure.
  • Printing a structure.

List filter

  • {Type} — The item type the structures are shown and entered for.
A new structure can only be entered once {Type} has been selected in the filter.

Data tabs

  • ~ BASIC ~
The item the structure is entered for and the quantity it relates to.
  • ~ ITEMS ~
The items that go into the structure.
  • ~ DMS ~
Attachments related to the structure, for example a technical drawing or a photograph of a dish.

~ BASIC ~

  • {Structure for} — The item the structure is entered for.
  • {Quantity} — The quantity of the item the structure relates to. As a rule 1. If a unit quantity contains negligible amounts of an ingredient, the structure can be entered for a larger quantity — the amount of parsley in a single soup is negligible, for example, so the recipe is entered for 100 plates.
  • {Department} — The department the structure applies to. If left empty, the structure applies to every department except those that have a structure of their own. A separate department is entered only when the structure differs in that department.
  • {Remarks} — Internal remarks related to the structure.
For the Food and Drinks type the tab also holds the {Active}, {Course} and {Order printed at} fields, described on Recipes.

~ ITEMS ~

  • {#} — The line number. It only sets the display order and does not affect the quantities relieved.
  • {Department} — The warehouse the line is relieved from.
  • {Item} — The item that goes into the structure.
  • {Quantity} — The quantity of the item needed for the quantity entered on the ~ BASIC ~ tab.

A line is saved with SAVE, deleted with DELETE, and entry is abandoned with CANCEL.

When an item is selected while a new line is entered, the list shows the current stock in the department displayed in the top left corner of the window. This does not apply to service packages, because services carry no stock.
