Maximum retail price
The Croatian Government's Decision on maximum prices of certain products (NN 142/25) sets a maximum permitted retail price for a range of products. In Brix that ceiling is entered on the item, in the {Maximum retail price} field of the ~ BASIC ~ tab, and Brix then warns whenever the item's price in a document exceeds it. An empty field means the item is not capped and no check is made.
Where Brix warns
The warning appears when the selling price is determined in these forms:
- [ Invoices ] — on an invoice line, when the department is a retail department or the invoice subtype is RAMP - Retail (Unit Price).
- [ Quotes ] — on a quote line, under the same condition as for invoices.
- [ POS Sales ] — when a line is added; a POS sale is always retail.
Invoice types that do not sell goods at a retail price are outside the check: credit notes (ODOT), advance payment invoices (RAPP) and reversals. When the conditions are not met the forms behave as before. A check when entering prices in the price list will be added later.
Which price is compared
The retail price per unit of the line, including VAT, is compared:
- on a goods-in document, a retail invoice (RAMP) and a POS sale the line carries the retail price, which is compared directly;
- on other invoices and on quotes the line carries the wholesale price without VAT, so the computed retail price is compared — the wholesale price plus VAT at the line's rate, the same amount the form shows as {MP iznos} divided by the quantity.
Line discounts and rebates are not part of the comparison — the cap applies to the displayed price, and a rebate is a condition of sale.
Warning on the line
The check runs every time the line's price is determined: when Brix brings it from the price list or stock (adding an item, changing the item, changing the delivery date so that a different price list applies), when the user enters or changes it manually, and on a goods-in document also when {MP Cij} is recalculated from {Marža %}, {VP cij}, {Stopa PDV-a} or {Cijena dobavljača}. When the retail price per unit is above the maximum permitted:
- at the moment the ceiling is crossed a notification appears: The entered price 3,49 € exceeds the maximum permitted price 3,32 € (NN 142/25).;
- while the price stays above the ceiling the same text is shown in red under the price field — also when the field is read-only because the price comes from the price list. The text disappears when the price drops to the ceiling or below.
The notification is not repeated on every change, only when the ceiling is crossed; the text under the field follows the state permanently. The warning blocks neither entry nor closing of the document — the regulation binds the retailer, and Brix warns. The behaviour is the same on desktop and mobile.
When a price above the ceiling on an invoice or quote comes from the price list it cannot be corrected in the document — it is corrected in the price list. Manual price entry on invoices and quotes is possible only when the item has {PE} ticked in the price list.
Closing a goods-in document, invoice or quote
If the document contains at least one line priced above the maximum when it is closed, a Confirm dialog is shown first, with the message The following items have a price above the maximum permitted price (NN 142/25): and the list of lines (name, retail price, maximum retail price). OK closes the document without changing prices, CANCEL returns to the document.
POS Sales
In a POS sale only the warning when adding a line applies. There is no dialog at payment — the cashier cannot correct the price at the till, and a dialog would slow down checkout.
