Position

A position is the physical location of goods in the warehouse. It is entered in the {Position} field of the stock dialog in the Stocks form (a new position is opened with the + button to the right of the field) and on incoming and outgoing documents, and it determines whether the goods take part in a stock count.

Positions can be used only in departments that have the SKL_POZ setting enabled in department settings. Without it, the {Position} field is not shown on documents.

Fields

{Subject to stock count} — Checkbox. If cleared, the goods at the position are tracked through the warehouse as usual but are left out of stock count lists.

Limitations

If items at a position not subject to stock count do have stock at the moment a stock count list is created, Brix includes them in the list — otherwise the total quantity and value of the warehouse would not be accurate.

If you often receive goods in transit, which are not kept in stock permanently or never physically enter the warehouse, open a separate position for them (e.g. TRAN – Goods in transit) and leave {Subject to stock count} cleared. Goods in transit then do not burden the regular stock count lists.
